Finestrat is a beautiful old village in the province of Alicante (Spain) is unusual, insofar as it is an inland mountain village and also a small tourist resort by the sea, called Cala Finestrat. Situated in a rural zone it is a peaceful spot from where you can enjoy all types of activities. Benidorm is only a 10 minute drive away incresing the possibilities of beach, mountains and the night life. There are many activities you can do here, walking, rambling, hiking, mountain climbing, biking, sking, golf and boat trips etc. The views are beautiful at any time of the year. You can enjoy Mediterrean cuisine in the local restaurantes such as Llar de Morena and savour the best paella in Spain. The calm atmosphere along with the tranquillity makes this place perfect for your holidays, far enough from everything and near enough at the same time.
The house is only two minutes from the village where there are bars and restaurantes. In the village wander through the narrow streets and make your way up to the park on the top of the hill, it really is worth the trouble. After a rest take in the views and don't forget your camera, you will need it. There is another park at the bottom village with a stream running through it. Take a gentle stroll and admire the plants on view. There is a play area there for the kids so they won't get bored.
Finestrat is an ideal base for any type of holiday. We are only ten minutes from Terrra Mitica theme park and Benidorm beaches. Less then 10 minutes and you can be on the motorway to visit the many beauty spots or venture into Alicante where you visit the Santa Barbara castle, wander around the shops or go to the port, have a drink and watch the boats you wish you could afford. If you like animals then we have two places nearby, Vergel Safari Park and Noe's where you can see many animals that have been rescued from Circus's and Fairgrounds.
If you want an activity holiday then look no further, apart from walking, hiking, mountain climbing there are local golf courses. |

The detached house is set in it's own grounds, just outside the village in a very peaceful, secluded and beautiful spot. The whole garden is fenced off and access is through an electric gate. The views from the house are spectacular with open countryside on all sides with the odd house dotted about. The Puig Campana (Finestrat's famous mountain) can be seen behind the house. From the house and terraces you can see the sea or look across the countryside to the mountains in the distant. The unspoilt sunsets are something to see any time of the year but are particularly beautiful in the Spring and Autumn. Look out for the Eagles circling the mountain or watch the Swallows while they look for food. February and early March is when the Almond Blossom is out, something to look at while having breakfast in the porch or on the terrace.
Check on Fiestas to see what's on. They are not to be missed and always finish with a spectacular fireworks display. Even if you don't want to go you can watch the fireworks from the house.
